The Ministry of Home Affairs, in collaboration with international experts, held a workshop to enhance Guyana's capabilities in preventing arms diversion. Participants from the GPF, GDF, and other agencies received training on regulating the trade and transfer of conventional arms and countering diversion risks.
Sponsored by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, CARICOM IMPACS, and Mines Advisory Groups, this training involved GPF and GDF personnel. The program aimed to enhance skills in managing weapons and ammunition stockpiles, contributing to effective arms control.
